Today during our school assembly, we were formally presented with our Gold Sports Award accreditation by Mrs Sandra Proudfoot from Active Schools and one of our past pupils, Finlay Waugh, who competes as an Athlete for Scotland. He was able to tell pupils about his experience and encouragement of sport he had when he was a pupil at Newington and provided pupils with the aspirations of achieving high in sport.
Our thanks to Mrs Duignan, Mrs Proudfoot and Mrs Mannall for collating all the evidence needed for this award and to all staff who provide pupils with the on-going support to encourage healthy lifestyles by promoting a number of clubs at our school.
