Bubble blowing is an activity loved by children everywhere, but did you know it is a great way to support children's speech and language? The shape a child's mouth makes, as well as the muscles needed to blow the bubble mixture, help children to develop muscles needed to make speech sounds.
You don't need to have bought bubbles from a shop to enjoy this fun activity, a tub of water, some washing up liquid, an empty plastic bottle and an old sock is all you need. Follow these steps to make bubble clouds:
1. mix a little washing up liquid into a bowl of water
2. remove the bottom of the bottle and fit the old sock over the open end of the bottle (adult only bit!)
3. dip the sock end of the bottle into the bowl of water and washing up liquid
4. blow through the bottle and watch the long, fluffy bubble clouds appear!
